Save British Columbia's Bears
1m 29s
B.C Bears deserve our help! Bears go to sleep this winter with a big question - WILL I STILL BE PROTECTED WHEN I WAKE UP NEXT SPRING?? What kind of BC do we want? One that protects and cherishes our natural wildlife? Or one that auctions off the right to kill?
Let's not forget what we once had to fight against. When you go to vote this Saturday Oct. 19th, Vote with bears in mind. Remember that you care about bears and that you celebrate BC as a GRIZZLY REFUGE - and want it to stay that way! At Pacific Wild, we're fighting to keep B.C. bears safe and protect the biodiversity they sustain along the West Coast. Iconic animals such as grizzlies are an umbrella species in delicate coastal ecosystems of British Columbia.
When we protect grizzly bears and their habitat, we are also protecting a wide range of animals that share the diverse ecosystems they depend on for survival. We need to protect wildlife corridors connecting critical grizzly bear habitat, we need non-lethal approaches to coexisting with wildlife, like black bears, in our communities, and we need to legislate the ban on grizzly trophy hunting. Pacific Wild has been on the frontlines of the fight for permanent protections for bears for decades: from the fight to end grizzly trophy hunting to advocating for permanent legislation to protect bears in our province, to the creation of iconic IMAX film "The Great Bear Rainforest" and our recent short documentary "Return of the Great Bear."
Pacific Wild continues to be the eyes and ears on the ground sharing stories about these beautiful places we call home with the world, and we hope you will join us to fight for their protection. Help create permanent protections for B.C.'s bears.
