Since land across the Patagonian Steppe was converted into a national park, Rewilding Chile has been working to reinstate the native flora and fauna to the area. The team started by removing hundreds of kilometers of fencing, which broke up the land into sections and prevented animals from moving freely. Now, several species are beginning to thrive, like the endangered Patagonian huemul deer, which are helping to build a healthy forest ecosystem for the future.
