With its expedition in Guadeloupe’s mesophotic zone, Under The Pole successfully completed the first chapter of its DEEPLIFE series, through which it studied marine animal forests in Arctic, temperate and tropical waters. On this mission in the southern Caribbean Sea, the expert divers collaborated with world-renowned fish expert and Rolex Awards Laureate Luiz Rocha to uncover more about ecosystems found between 30 and 150 metres under the ocean’s surface. Combining scientific rigour with deep-sea exploration, the team helped further the understanding of these underwater worlds, and how best to protect them.
