This is the People’s Picture
As it was projected in vast scale onto the White Cliffs of Dover - one of Britain’s most iconic and climate-vulnerable landmarks - a stark reminder was unveiled:
🌍 89% of people, just like the ones represented in the artwork, want their governments to do more to address climate change.
Created by @ThePeoplesPicture, it is made up of more than 1,500 crowd-sourced images of people in the places they love and want to protect.
From allotments and coastlines, to playgrounds and nature reserves - these are the places that shape our lives. And the huge numbers of people calling for them to be protected - from artists, creatives and sports stars, to activists, farmers and families.
The projection is being launched as part of Act Now, Change Forever. Hailed as the biggest mass lobby of the decade, more than 5,000 people are arriving in Westminster to meet 500+ MPs and call for urgent action to:
✅ Deliver vital funding for communities hit hardest by climate impacts
✅ Restore nature to create a safer, healthier future
✅ Back green jobs for a fairer, more secure economy
The People’s Picture is a striking echo of these calls. Let’s make sure they reverberate right across the UK by sharing it far and wide, and asking:
📣 Politicians, are you listening?
This is a moment for political courage. Lead the transition to a greener, fairer UK – now, before it’s too late.
