Polesia is a forested wetland area in the heart of Europe. It is a true wilderness spanning across parts of Poland, Belarus, Ukraine and Russia and covers around 186,000 km2. With its gigantic mires, rivers and floodplains Polesia is a paradise for birds, amphibians and other wildlife. A group of dedicated people from national as well as international organisations are working hand in hand to save Polesia from degradation and destruction.
