Leaving the city behind them and landing in the middle of the stark and arid Andalusian countryside, Karen and Ryan embark on a challenge to live off the land. In contrast to the modern day ‘white sheet’, fertilizer fuelled farms that surround them, they experiment with the simple and common sense practices of permaculture in an attempt to organically rejuvenate the depleted soils, grow food and change their natural environment for the better. ‘The Living Hill’ tracks a transitional period of sensory resetting, the trials and tribulations of cultivating the land and ultimately a journey that builds a bond with nature.
