Adrian Steirn’s elephant portraits are turning everyday people into conservationists. Based in South Africa, this award-winning filmmaker and photographer uses his work to develop empathy for Africa’s iconic giants. “We have a responsibility to ensure that every single person who follows me, shares my photos, engages in anything I do, really understands the responsibility that comes with conserving our planet,” he says. Steirn discusses fortress conservation and shows how we can shape the perception of elephants to preserve this species.
