A Mind For Nature is a short documentary focusing on the pioneering ornithologist Ngone Diop, who works with Birdlife Africa in Senegal. This production, made possible by the MAVA foundation reveals Ngone’s journey to becoming the first female ornithologist with a PhD in Senegal and highlights her tireless work to conserve sea birds in West Africa, as well as her mission to encourage the next generation of Senegalese researchers. Inspired by Ngone’s belief that “if we conserve nature, we also conserve ourselves”, the film serves as a reminder that every part of the natural world needs protecting.
