An underwater ballet filmed in the Mediterranean Sea and set to Rone's music 'Brest', BAKELITE uses dance to depict the encounter and confrontation between a giant made of plastic, manufactured by the artist Hortense le Calvez, and a Naiad, the spirit of the ocean, played by Julie Gautier. The cinematography was directed by Jacques Ballard, a leading specialist in submarine filming.
